Family Sunday School Launches

We are launching Family Sunday School today (February 3)

Click on the link below to see our first attempt. It is 16 minutes long. It includes an intro, song by Pastor Jon, Bible reading, craft, blessing, and closing song. Please give us your feedback on and ideas for improvement. We are looking for individuals or families to take a small role in the future. Contact Dewey and Connie Wisner or Ann Pokel if you would like to help. The craft can be made in your homes and brought to the church for our homebound members. A box will be set outside the staff entrance on Lennox Street for you to bring the crafts. Our homebound ministry team will deliver your craft to our homebound members.

Phone Volunteers for Care & Connect Call Team

For 2021, we are very interested in creating an ongoing Care and Connection Call Team.  This group would receive a short list of member’s names and give them a call once a month to check in for needs or prayers.  If you miss seeing your fellow church members, this might be for you! It’s a great way to care for our fellow members and stay connected during this lonely time for many.

We will need many volunteers to keep the calling lists short, so come one and all!!! If you think this is for you, please reach out to the church office and sign up before February 15. Once we have our list of volunteers, we will assign a list of members for you to call and also provide you with a phone script to help you begin your check in.

Annual Meeting, January 31

This Sunday, January 31, we will have our Annual Meeting starting at 10:30AM via Zoom. It worked well last time, and we hope to do the same this time. We will have the Zoom meeting room open to log in starting at 10:00 AM to help us determine a quorum. We ask that when you log in, let Todd Stevenson (our parliamentarian) know how many people are joining from your device and your names.

For those who don’t want to navigate this Zoom technology, we will have an in-person watch party in the church’s gathering area opening at 10:00 AM. You can participate in the meeting from there. All Covid safety measures will apply to those in attendance.

In the meeting we will discuss the success of paying off our building mortgage and the strength of our financial position going forward, vote on new council members, and update our constitution to come in line with the ELCA’s model constitution. The last time we updated the constitution was 20 years ago. We will also consider our bylaws and continuing resolutions. Kristi Armstrong will present an idea from the Care and Connect Team, and Pastor Jon will give a “state of the church address” in his church chat.
