Worship Volunteers

Where Can God Use Your Talents?

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members help to keep the altar set up for worship services. They may be responsible to ordering candles, changing communion dishes, etc.

Communion Assistants

Communion assistants help the Pastor by doing pre-service set-up, assisting in the distribution of Holy Communion at all worship services and doing after-service clean-up. They also take Holy Communion to parishioners who can’t come forward for communion during the services.

Communion

Greeters

These people are typically the first faces people see when they enter the church for worship services. They shake hands, greet our members and visitors, and just generally provide a welcome feeling upon entering the church.

Homebound Communion

These members fultill an important need for our church by taking Communion and the Word of God weekly or monthly to those members who are recovering from illness, who are homebound due to disability, or to permanent residents in area nursing homes. Special training is required.

Readers

Readers (or Lectors) boldly proclaim God’s Word within the context of the worship service at Our Savior’s. They read assigned readings at worship and other special celebrations or holidays. Lectors typically should be good readers with a strong voice.

Tech Team

Here at Our Savior’s, we try to embrace technologies to further the gospel’s impact on our world. We do this through videos, rolling announcements, etc.shown during our worship services. Training is required.

Ushers

Ushers are individuals who help with seating, distributing bulletins at the beginning of our worship services, taking up collections, and guiding people up for Communion. Training is provided.
