The Mission Programs at Our Savior’s are coordinated by our

Christian Action Committee. Our goal is to develop programs not only locally, but nationally and abroad as well. In this service to others for the Glory of God, we share our Christian Faith.

Mission Trips
In 1997, Our Savior’s organized its first disaster relief mission trip. We were sent to the Grand Forks, North Dakota, in response to major flooding in the Red River Valley. Since then we have been organizing trips every year to different locations around the nation. Places we’ve been to include Minnesota (twice), North Carolina (twice), Texas, Missouri, Nebraska, Mississippi (three times), Louisiana (six times), and Georgia.

IMG 1390We have also organized a few international mission trips so far; one to Slovakia and a couple to Guatemala. In addition to the annual national or international trip, we organize several state wide mission trips within Wisconsin to churches and homes in need of repair or remodeling, including All People’s church in Milwaukee and Church of the Wilderness in Bowler, as well as several Habitat for Humanity Builds.

Who Can Participate

Our trips are open to anyone 14 and over. You do not need to

be a church member or a Lutheran to participate. Also, there

are tasks for everyone of any ability, so don’t let your age be an

issue either. No building experience is necessary. Youth 16-18

can attend with a parent’s signed permission, and youth 14-16

can attend if a parent or guardian accompanies them.

With the high costs of gas and supplies, funding a mission trip is getting harder and harder. We want everyone to be able to participate, no matter the income level – so we try to keep the costs to you as low as possible. Each trip is different, but we usually charge a minimum required fee of between $150 to $250 for the national trips. We also offer scholarships for those who need assistance.

To help offset the cost to us per trip, which can run from $5,000 to $10,000, we hold regular fundraising events. We are always looking for funding opportunities and cost cutting travel options.

If you are interested in any of our Mission Trips or have any questions, please contact Marcie at 725-3956.
